Breathe Love interview series with Rebecca Moore

Please share with us a little about you, describe yourself in five words?

My name is Rebecca (or Becky), and I enjoy creating soulful spaces for people to share, explore and transform. Five words I would use to describe myself are calm, curious, romantic, adventurous and inventive. 

Tell us about your journey? What brought you to where you are now?

My inward journey started around 12 years ago when I began to practice yoga asana and meditation. At the time I was running a fashion magazine and creative agency. I started to experience an inner transformation that I couldn’t seem to translate into my outer reality. Eventually, I took a hiatus from creative projects to focus on soul work and healing. During that time I studied yoga, meditation, breathwork and reiki which I now practice and teach. Recently I’ve been able to merge my soul work with my love for art, design and creativity through a community platform called We Are Formless. 

What has been your biggest inspiration with the work that you do and share?

I am forever inspired by my dearest friend and teacher Katie Abbott. Through journeying with Katie I experienced the miracle of unconditional love, and the impact it has when shared with others through whichever modality I choose to practice. 

What sparks joy in your life that truly lights you up? (This could be big or small).

Being in nature, looking up at the moon or watching the sunrise always lights me up!

What are your favourite soul or self-care practices right now that you can share with us?

Beginning the day by spending time with myself in meditation, followed by some movement to warm me up. Somedays this is a yoga flow and others I just dance like wild. I love a salt bath in the evening and listening to a soothing playlist before bed. If I ever feel overwhelmed during the day I practice alternate nostril breathing to calm and rebalance my energy.

During these times that we are experiencing as a collective, in what ways are you seeing the importance of community?

For me connecting with others is like therapy for the soul. Sharing our stories, our fears, our grief and our joy reminds us that we are all in this together. In community, we can experience love and peace despite all the chaos and uncertainty.

What was the last sign you received from the universe (if you had one)?

I feel like I receive signs from the universe at every moment! My favourite reminders are ‘what’s meant for you won’t pass’ and ‘every road leads back to love’.

Share with us something that you are really proud of?

I’m really proud of staying so grounded during the most uncertain period of my life, releasing expectations and attachments to what life ‘should’ look like, going with the flow and trusting in divine timing.

What is your favourite practice that connects you to your heart ki/energy? (Please share a tip, tool or technique to support our wellbeing?

Sitting upright in a comfortable position, soften your gaze and gently close down your eyes

Notice your breath as it enters and exits your body through your nostrils

As you inhale bring awareness to your body, noticing your breath as it travels within

Use your exhalation to release any tightness or tension that you become aware of

Place your hand on your chest and begin to tune into the rhythm of your heartbeat

Begin to deepen your breath, extending your inhalation and exhalation

As you inhale imagine that you are filling your heart space with cosmic love and light

Use your exhalation to spread the cosmic love and light throughout your body

Continue to breath this love into your being for as long as feels good

Seal the practise by bringing to mind all that you have to be grateful for

Rest the palms of your hands on your heart centre, take a soft breath and share  with us a message from your heart?
